Linea, Ethereum layer 2: tokens and Airdrop coming in Q1 2025

Ethereum's layer 2 Linea, developed by ConsenSys, announces the LINEA token and an airdrop planned for the first quarter of 2025
Linea Association, for greater decentralization
ConsenSys, the company behind the development of Metamask andEthereum ‘s Layer 2 , LINEA, has launched the Linea Association. This Swiss nonprofit association, wants to foster a more open management of the network.
Its goal is for the community to have a greater say in Linea’s decisions. The Association will alsomanage the intellectual property and resources of the project, giving users and developers a share in the governance of the network. This move toward a decentralized network creates a more autonomous and transparent network vision.
Linea's Airdrop: planned for Q1 2025
The Linea Association announced the launch of the LINEA token, scheduled for Q1 2025, with a release via airdrop that will reward users and ecosystem contributors.
In addition to offering governance functions, the token will be central to a decentralized development of Linea. The Association’s roadmap includes the transition to aproof-of-stake validation system , with active involvement of token stakeholders in network management.
This event symbolizes the transition of Linea to a public network, where users and developers will be able to contribute directly to the growth and innovation of the zkEVM.
New perspectives for the Linea network
The announcement of Linea’s airdrop comes at a positive time for crypto regulation. Donald Trump’s recent victory in the U.S. presidency could foster a less restrictive environment for blockchain.
During his campaign, Trump promised to reduce SEC oversight of cryptocurrencies and pave the way for more development of the industry. This new policy could offer unique opportunities for projects like Linea, supporting the growth of decentralized technology and digital finance.
