ARBITRUM: 1 miliardo di transazioni sul layer 2 di ETH
By Daniele Corno
Ethereum's main layer 2, Arbitrum, has surpassed 1 billion transactions for the first time since its launch in 2021
Arbitrum competing with Base
As reported by TheBlock, Arbitrum,Ethereum ‘s main layer 2 for TVL, has just surpassed 1 billion transactions in its first three years of operation.
A market leader since its launch, Arbitrum, is experiencing full competition with Base, the Layer 2 developed by theNasdaq-listed exchange, Coinbase. Base, in fact, is chasing the market leader in terms of the number of transactions conducted. Currently, Coinbase’s Layer 2 has more than 750 million transactions to its credit.
However, Base was launched only a year ago. In fact, as demonstrated by this chart provided by TheBlock, onchain activity on Layer 2 is focusing on this very network. With more than 4 million daily transactions, compared to 2 million daily transactions on Arbitrum.
A new market leader?
The trend seems quite clear. The performance of recent months is anticipating what could become the new market leader.
Base, in fact, in the month of September alone , experienced an increase in TVL of more than 50 percent, in contrast, Arbitrum, on the other hand, experienced a decrease of close to 5 percent.
An important consideration, however, is that within the TVL of the current market leader, the amount of ARBs present on the chain is also considered , currently with a marketcap in excess of $2 billion. Base, on the other hand, does not have a proprietary token. This causes the TVL to be calculated only on the actual assets deposited on the network, indirectly making Base the current market leader.
