BlackRock raises bid on Strategy: holdings at $3.67 billion

The giant BlackRock has increased its holdings in Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), now worth $3.67 billion

Despite the market turmoil, the asset management giant BlackRock is not stopping and is also relaunching on the stock market (but with an eye still on Bitcoin).
BR increases its stake in Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), the largest “corporate” holder of BTC, from 4.09% to 5%.
As new papers filed with the SEC show, BlackRock now holds 11.26 million shares of Strategy common stock, a significant increase from 9.48 million in September 2024.
The purchase price is unclear, but the stake just added to its portfolio is currently valued at $584 million. In total, BR’s entire stake in Strategy amounts to $3.67 billion.
BlackRock continues to buy shares in Strategy, and Strategy continues to buy Bitcoin, thanks in part to its shareholders. Today the company holds 471,107 BTC, which is currently worth around 46 billion dollars. Earlier this week, the company reported a net loss of $670.8 million, but its plans don’t seem to have been compromised at all.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin continues to float just below the $100,000 support level. According to several analysts, the record liquidation of recent days may have coincided with the reaching of a local minimum, but cyclically (as in 2020 and 2022) the sector has always needed a couple of months for the recovery to be fully completed.
The growth of the dominance of Bitcoin is particularly interesting, as it has now exceeded 60.3%, with an increase of 4% in the last 24 hours. This figure is fundamental: on the one hand it describes the “dominance” of the first cryptocurrency over the entire sector, reflecting investor behavior, and on the other hand it could suggest what awaits the alt world. Historically, when this reaches key thresholds, the conditions are created for the start of alt-season.
