Senator Cynthia Lummis has been appointed to head the Senate Banking Subcommittee on Digital Assets.

Senator Lummis, a leading supporter of the crypto industry, is also the one who introduced the bill to establish a strategic reserve in Bitcoin in the United States.
“Digital assets are the future, and if the U.S. wants to remain a global leader in financial innovation, Congress must urgently pass bipartisan legislation that establishes a comprehensive legal framework for digital assets and strengthens the U.S. dollar with a strategic reserve in BITCOIN, “ says Lummis.
This subcommittee will thus have two main areas of focus:
- Legislation that promotes innovation while protecting consumers, dealing with issues such as Stablecoins and a strategic reserve in Bitcoin.
- Enforcing oversight over financial regulators to ensure that they act according to the laws in place.
BTC flies to $106k, CZ also intervenes
On the nomination of Senator Lummis, paralleling the speech currently given by President Donald Trump at the World Economic Forum in Davos, the price of BTC gains strength and flies above the $106k area, up 5% in the last 4 hours.
