Memecoin: the sector on Solana suddenly heats up

In the wake of a recovering sector, investors are already focusing on riskier assets, with memecoins from the Solana ecosystem at the forefront
Surprise comeback of memecoins?
With Bitcoin approaching $90,000, crypto investors seem to have regained some of the enthusiasm that characterized 2024. The appetite for riskier assets is back, and consequently so is the appetite for memecoins, with significant performances in the Solana ecosystem.
As CoinGecko reports, the category referring to tokens linked to the Pump.Fun platform alone has recorded an increase of 26% in one week, but a discreet growth has affected all the narratives that characterized the last bullish season, starting with the AI sector (+14% in the same period).
Among the most successful memecoins, and among the most capitalized in the category mentioned above, is Fartcoin, with a weekly performance of +68%, but even the more classic ones, such as Dogecoin, ShibaInu or Pepe, are showing important signs. In particular, PEPE has grown by 12% in the last 24 hours, suggesting renewed investor interest.
Pump.Fun back on track
Another important sign from the Pump.Fun front is also provided by the revenue of the platform in recent days, which in turn confirms a change in approach by investors, who have returned to a risk-on profile. The launchpad should also be in third place in the ranking of daily revenues generated in the entire DeFi ecosystem, behind Circle and Tether and fighting for the bronze medal with Hyperliquid.
The situation is suddenly heating up in the community, so much so that Guy Young, founder of Ethena, has returned to talk about altseason and the new opportunities arising from this market phase.

Obviously, promising signals are also coming from the altcoin front, with interesting performances regarding Render, Sonic and Worldcoin, which grew by 13-16% in a single day.
