Catizen: after airdrop, new awards for holders
By Davide Grammatica
The airdrop of Catizen's native token, CATI, is entering into full swing. It will be gradual, with holders eligible for new rewards
Catizen's airdrop
The time has finally come for the airdrop of Catizen‘s native token, CATI. Telegram and The Open Network ‘s (TON) most popular swap-to-earn has attracted a large audience to it, and the new ways in which airdrop is being carried out aim to reach more and more users.
The distribution of CATI was in fact designed to be gradual, with the first phase seeing 15 percent of the supply reach users. A smaller amount than expected according to the whitepaper’s instructions (34 percent), but that does not take into account the remaining 19 percent to be distributed over several “seasons,” each lasting 90 days.
“The remaining 19 percent will be distributed primarily through Airdrop Pass,” the official statement reads. “This consists of a 90-day cycle, and in each ‘season’ 1 percent of the share will be distributed.” Players, in this sense, will be able to obtain new tokens by completing various activities in the game. As a result, the airdrop in its entirety is expected to last as many as 19 seasons, for 4 years and 8 months.

Airdrop after airdrop
The idea is also to make the project sustainable in the long run while combating the problem of title abandonment following airdrop, which is the main attraction for active users. Titles like Notcoin have had to innovate a lot to try to keep the interest of players alive a minimum, and Catizen is similarly trying to find an alternative economic model.
It remains interesting, however, that for the second phase of airdrop, possession of the native token will be key, and this aspect could affect CATI’s price action.
Going forward, moreover, the Catizen team said it is committed to developing a more transparent distribution system, following several complaints from the community that followed the running change in airdrop eligibility criteria.
