Crypto.com card: a complete guide

Crypto.com card: a complete guide

What is the Crypto.com card?

Crypto .com Card is the credit card of Crypto.com, a famous cryptocurrency exchange that is constantly innovating.

The Crypto.com Card can be applied for directly on the platform and offers not only the possibility to spend fiat and crypto currency, but also to benefit from exclusive advantages that increase as the card level increases. Yes, because to be fair we should talk about Crypto.com cards, in the plural; in fact, there are different cards, each designed to meet the needs and economic availability of each customer.

As we said, among the many benefits, cashback is certainly one of the most interesting: every time we spend, a variable percentage of the amount goes back into our pockets. In addition, some cards allow you to not pay for Spotify and Netflix, have access to airport lounges, take advantage of lower trading commissions and much more.

All with the security of a product accepted almost everywhere: the Crypto.com Cards operate on the Visa circuit, which, together with Mastercard, offers widespread worldwide coverage.

Let’s learn more about these products and figure out which one to choose. If you would like to create an account and apply for a card, do so via this referral link: sign up for Crypto.com; you will receive $25 withdrawable bonuses as soon as you order a card from the Ruby Red tier!

What is the CRO token? What is it used for?

CRO is the utility token of the Crypto.com platform and it is essential to hold some if we want to enjoy some of the features of this exchange.

The token is an ERC-20 standard and its maximum supply is 30,000,000,000 CRO.

The use cases of this coin in the Crypto.com application are many:

  • Putting CROs in staking for at least 12 months, so you can get a Visa card to make purchases and receive cashback;
  • Attend events where CRO are staked;
  • Pay commissions on buying and selling currencies, getting discounts on fees;
  • More to come with new features in 2025.

In addition, the Cronos CRO coin also partly represents the performance of the Crypto.com company. As a result, the better the company’s performance, the more the value of crypto should increase over time (we still use the conditional).

Crypto.com Card Tiers

Crypto.com credit card relies on VISA payment circuits and allows us to spend the cryptocurrencies we hold on the exchange, or euros directly. With each transaction, except for a few that are excluded, we will get cashback.

As we said, there are different types of cards that can be obtained by blocking a certain number of CRO coins for at least 12 months (in the past it was 6). Once this period has passed, cardholders can remove the blocked tokens to use them again as they see fit, but lose all the benefits offered by the card (which will still remain usable). So you have to decide what is best:

  • To be eligible for cashback, discounts and the like while still having exposure to the coin CRO for at least one year;
  • Giving up the exposure but at the same time the benefits.

So let’s find out what cards the exchange offers.

We start with Midnight Blue, the only one that does not require CRO staking, but does not provide any cashback. It is a free entry level, good for testing the ground and assessing the quality of service.

As you go up the level, the benefits also grow:

  • Ruby Steel, the first ever in the premium segment, is obtainable with a minimum stake of €450.
  • Jade Green and Royal Indigo require at least €4,500 in CRO.
  • Frosted Rose Gold and Icy White require a counter value in stakes of €45,000.
  • Obsidian, card obtainable with at least €450,000 in locked CRO.
  • Prime, exclusive card reserved for those who have at least €900,000 of CRO and decide to tie them up for 12 months.

Thanks to changes coming in 2025, the cashback percentage will go up on all premium cards. It will start at 2 percent on the Ruby Steel (a very good compromise), then level up to 8 percent on the Prime.

Watch out for the monthly cashback limit imposed for Ruby Steel and Jade Green/Royal Indigo, which are $25 and $75.

Crypto.com Bonus

In this section we see all the bonuses that can be obtained with the different types of cards at Crypto.com. They vary depending on the card and over time.

Free Spotify subscription totally or for the first six months. Free Netflix subscription can also be associated with this .

At the end of 2025 will come the 10 percent rebato on travel offered by Crypto.com Travel. And just on the subject of travel, unfailing access to theAirport Lounge (from Jade Green and Royal Indigo), which adds a guest from the upper tier.

There are also attractive customer service-side benefits: at a certain tier you get priority.

Also sure to be successful are bonuses on transferring one’s stock portfolio (Crypto.com will become a full broker with stocks, commodities and more) and interest on fiat currency deposits (the exchange is close to becoming a regulated bank). In short, there really is a lot in store for customers.

What if I already have a card? For now, there is no obligation to upgrade and you can stay with your previous conditions. It is up to the individual user to decide what is most beneficial, considering that the CRO lock doubles from 6 months to 12 months, but adds benefits.

VISA Crypto.com cards limits

Having come to the end of our analysis, let us also look at the limits of the card in both ATM withdrawal and free exchange from the app before fees take over. Again, the two aspects vary depending on the card we got.

Here is a representative and updated table that follows the characteristics of the one seen earlier. Limits are expressed in euro; if you need informations for a different currency, explore the official website.

Final considerations

As at the end of every tutorial, we can draw some conclusions.

Barring special delays, the paper arrives in two weeks at most. The packaging is minimal but very well maintained and conveys a sense of exclusivity.

Crypto.com’s card, according to most users in our community, works very well. The cashback is always on time and hardly ever seems to give errors during use. In addition, additional services are also actually delivered without any problems, a sign of a mechanism that is now well broken in.

The opinion is more than positive. If you accept exposure to CRO, the Crypto.com card is definitely one of the best tools to keep in your pocket to pay effectively and smartly.
