Ubisoft relaunches Web3 gaming: Champions Tactics lands on Oasys

Champions Tactics is Ubisoft's first official Web3 title, leveraging NFT technology on the Oasys blockchain
Ubisoft's bet on Web3 gaming
Video game giant Ubisoft, famous for developing iconic titles such as Assassin’s Creed or Rayman, has just launched “Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles”, a new Web3 video game that leverages NFT technology in several gameplay dynamics.
The NFTs in question are “mint” on the Oasys network , and are integrated into many aspects of the game, now available for free on the Ubisoft Connect platform .
The title builds on the structure of classic turn-based strategic multiplayer, with players able to create a team of characters (with a fantasy theme) to pois challenge opponents online.
It can be played for free using so-called “ethereal champions” in special leaderboards, and numerous “champions” can be unlocked as they go in-game by completing various quests.
NFTs, previously released by Ubisoft on the Oasys network, number 75 thousand, and are already traded on the various secondary markets. The floor price of the various “samples,” as of now, is around $10, and unlike the “ethereals,” they have no limit on in-game usage. They also guarantee other additional rewards for players.
Each NFT then has unique qualities and attributes, evolving (including visually) over the course of the missions performed.
The wait is over, Champions Tactics is live!

The gaming giant's Web3 projects
As we have repeatedly reported, Ubisoft has long been active in the blockchain and crypto sector. It has released several experimental projects in the past, such as the in-game NFT collection dedicated to Ghost Recon Breakpoint on Tezos. But Champions Tactics remains the production company’s first official NFT game.
Hopefully, at this point, it will not be the last. Still in the works is Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E, built on the layer-2 Arbitrum, and with 10,000 dedicated NFTs coming to Magic Eden.
