By Daniele Corno
Mainnets of SONIC and INK, Layer 2 of Kraken, are officially LIVE: new opportunities open for users and developers
SONIC and the migration from Fantom
SONIC has launched its mainnet, marking a big step in the migration from Fantom. The network is EVM compatible and can process up to 10,000 transactions per second with rapid finality.

To move tokens, SONIC will introduce within 24/48 hours the Sonic Gateway, a decentralized Bridge to transfer assets from Ethereum to the new network.
FTM holders, on the other hand, will have to migrate their tokens to S via theMySonic portal at a 1:1 ratio. This feature is available for 90 days at no additional cost.
The launch will be supported by liquidity mining incentives, through Sonic Points for users and Sonic Gems for developers. They can later be converted into S tokens, to provide an incentive for using the network.
To interact with the network, you can manually integrate it on your wallet by following the steps on the Sonic Blog, or directly through Chainlist.org.
INK and the Optimism Superchain
INK, Ethereum ‘s Layer 2 ofExchange Kraken, is also now live on the mainnet. Built using theOP Stack, it is part of theOptimism Superchain .
We’re excited to announce Ink is live on mainnet!
Months ahead of schedule, we’re officially launching as part of the Optimism Superchain. This is just the beginning of our journey to bridge the gap between users and builders in DeFi.

The launch, earlier than Q1 2025, came about due to the success of the testnet phase, which in fact recorded millions of transactions and strong community involvement, with more than 100,000 users.
INK introduces advanced features that improve user experience and network security. With bridges optimized for the Superchain, users can easily move ERC20 tokens and interact with Dapps in DeFi, such as Lending protocols , Liquid staking, or DEX
In January 2025, INK will also integrate proof of error without authorization, allowing anyone to challenge invalid transactions, enhancing its transparency and beginning the climb toward its main competitor, namelyCoinbase ‘s Base .
To interact with the network right away, it is possible to use the Bridges made available on the Inkonchain website .
